okay i had been too caught up in recent happenings to talk about the dance concert. so i m back here to do just that. Basically my job in the control room was practically useless. I just stood there and took up oxygen and blocked lights. Cheers.
When i arrived, Elaine was scolding Vi about his costume. felt really bad for him.
Katerine and I watched the guest groups arrive one by one in the morning and gave our aid in their test runs. In the end, the effects dude wanted the groups themselves to send reps to go tell him what they required so i ended up just watching the groups perform and chatting with the sch av crew.
Ten minutes before the show and Zaki was already screaming at me to get someone (we get to hold walkie-talkies.Cool!)to get the rags that were sitting in front of the stage. The hell were those things doing there anyway? that was one minute of panic. haha.
everything went well after that, meaning everyone knew what they were doing so i dun have to remind or order anyone. so, poor me, nothing to do but watch the whole performance.*silent evil laughter*
The whole concert was spectacular!!! I'll go item by item. i dun care.
1)Enter_spacebar- this was our SYF piece. no offence but, how the hell did they get gold with that? But it was still good (just not gold SYF material). hate the costumes though. distracting.
( Halfway through some idiot tripped over the some wire backstage and our lighting effects were gone.poof.they managed to fix it later after much panicking. haha)
2)Liberation- this was by our very own people. I never thought it was great until that same morning the SAJC came and saw them practising and they exclaimed VERY NICE LEH!!! I couldnt help but beam proudly at our dancers.

3)Swirl (SAJC) - I thought THEIRS was great. was their SYF piece too. See, thats why i loved our concert. That night was like all the great dancers coming
together for the love and celebration of dance.
4a)Sueno Latino - our dance club again. watched them do it so many times i dun feel anything anymore. haha. but somehow the dance looked better during rehearsals without those costumes. Min dropped her skirt *gasp*. Max looked like he was trying to steal the show throughout though it was a couple thing. what's his problem?
4b)Salsa - My gosh this was terrible. this stupid external group don't even bother to come for rehearsals. and it turned up to be 2 old hags doing the salsa. im not saying they didn't dance well but their age made it look like a kopitiam beer auntie and an old drunk lecher dancing at a hungry ghost festival concert. (their costumes contributed largely too!)Its a JC concert ppl! who wants to see 2 old people dancing?!
5a)SpArX! - another by our alumni. it resembled soo much like cheerleading you can just take all the steps for next sports day. made me feel like bouncing up and down too. haha. Raz looked sooo absolutely good doing this piece. I was watching him all the time. sure, there was another guy, but he looked like Fantasia. Imagine...
5b)Breakdance(Fuyo) - their stunts weren't really good. I still think charles can do better. haha. but they brought out the little boy. never mind if his stunts were not well done, having a small kid breakdancing is enough to get the crowd to go wild. I would have cheered along with everyone, but i had to shut up. supposed to stay invisible, rem...
Intermission - I was supposed to get someone to bring the flowers from the control room to backstage. but guess what? I forgot. big surprise, huh.
6)Moulin Rouge - haha, the video was hilarious, abousolutely brilliant and totally suitable for this item. the costumes were, erm, scandalous. haha, but still, great moves. Vi doesn't look very convincing as his role as sort of womaniser here. haha, he look totally out of place. But Max, fit perfectly. Muahahahaha...
7)Passion(SRJC) - gosh they danced very well!! but hey, bad song choice. most noted by us for the dancers' looks (how'd they look so good?), their costumes and their hair.
8)ICC - I refuse to comment. When they came on, it was a chance for the audience to take a nap, talk to the person beside them or drink some water. however the audience could do nothing of those cos the horrible music was blasting.
9)Crazy Cool- we thought it was really bad comparatively. but it was the year one audience's only chance to cheer for their friends. So, cheer away.
10)Rumi(NUS)- this was definitely the best item of all. Hmm, men in skirts and much twirls. thumbs up!
11)Losen up!(RJC) - very very nice song by the black eyed peas. you can hear it now on radio! that newest song by BEP. But seems like they can't dance as well as they can study.
12)Fear - my 2nd favourite piece! Am beaming proudly once again. I thought Liping did great! Liz too! And of course once Raz came out i couldn't see anyone else. It WAS very messy down there on the stage, all i saw was just see a mass of red. Costume was weird.
End! - somebody didn't get her flowers cos it was still sitting quietly in one corner of the control room.oops...
Felt bad about calling that guy Fantasia. he turned out to be really nice!
