No, Not Listening.

I like my Singaporean friend here and all, but how do I tell her to f*** off every single time she tries to make me go for some church group gathering. No offence to the religion but I will believe when I want/am ready to! Don't you think if I wanted to know about it, I would come to you? Get the hint BYE.

People.

So I haven't blogged, and I think that's all Twitter's fault. And I think words get lost with so many people's different shit on Twitter, so everyone (including myself) forget what I said. Anyways, to sum up Wollongong, its a kinda like a retirement town. Slow and seriously chilled out. Kids still flock to beaches and have parties and everyone goes out to get smashed and all, but there's a general heck care feeling out here. Like how I might just go out for a 3 hour lunch break during work and go around town barefooted (so many of them!) and no one really cares. Maybe this happens throughout Australia, I don't know. But whenever I start to feel laidback, going back into university slaps me back to reality and makes me stressed all over again, so no diff. But what strikes me is how nice everyone is. Kaypo is another word for it. But hey, I'm not complaining when passersby want to pick me up when I'm walking home in the rain, or help look out for my bus when I was happily texting away and not paying attention. They do look out for each other over here, unlike living in some city where strangers are strangers and everyone is just rude, cold and untrusting. But hey, call me an uptight Asia, but crime still happens everywhere.

The issue of prcs. There are so many of them here! I hate it that they like to congregate together and make lots of noise in rapid chinese that even I don't understand. They are fine on a one-to-one level, (surprisingly) like normal people. Locals are pretty mean to prcs though. Like one night, my other housemates tried to convince the prc kid that the phrase 'die happy' was a musical sequel to the movie Die Hard... and he believed them. I like that prc kid, he gives me free food all the time! haha. There're tons of Thais and Vietnamese too. Never would I have thought that my Thai Level 1 knowledge would be useful in Australia. So yeah, I guess there are no serious issues of racism here, except minor teasing i guess =/

There's this Aussie dude in my house, who is pretty friendly, but talks waaaay too much. I can never get a word in. So yeah, I keep hearing stories of him traveling around, skiing, jumping off cliffs, swimming in canyons. And I think, shit all my backpacking stories lose already. And backpacking was the the most independent fun I had already. Time to up my level!! (:
