I knew going back to Hougang Mall area would mean bumping into more xinmin people. And so we met a bunch of the e5 people on thurs, chatted a little. Havent seen benjamin in a zillion years, but he still looks the same, talk the same. But it's different. Hmm, I can only say, people change, people (wei an) grow. My first kbox experience was pretty fun, I can see myself doing this more often, haha. Apparently I know more chinese songs than i realise. We were just talking about it when my parents msged me and told me that NUS has sent their acceptance. well, that's a load off my mind. One is better than no answer.

I'm just gonna bury myself in ou xiang ju-s for until uni starts. I just borrowed a ton from qiu. haha. yay i finally have stuff to do.

He's coming back!

Tuesday, April 25, 2006

Been thru' my second uni interview today at NTU. I don't really know if I wanna get in or not. I mean, despite the fact NTU students are known to be boring and have no life, the students at SCI (Sch of Communications and Information) all seem pretty funky, them being media people and all. Almost like the typical SMU student. Visiting all the editorial rooms and recording studios and all today made me really wanna try this out. I could become a radio DJ, editor, journalist, producer, director, anchorgirl (I know, haha)all those jobs which has been painted as 'glamourous'. Something like '13 going on 30', Ngeow Meiyi, Fashion editor of Vogue magazine. like, wow.... Maybe I'll even get to join the globe trekkers and travel the world. I have a shot of getting FAMOUS! And meet even more famous people! Wasn't it always everyone's little girl dream to be famous?! I can be the comedian everyone predicts me doing, I can make it to Hollywood!Nah, kidding, I'm not an actress. But still, I think I am most interested in becoming a host. And then earns zillions like Oprah someday. One problem, their course doesn't seem that impressive when i went there today. they're like amateurs, will they teach well enough for the students to excel in their jobs later on? Or will everyone end up doing stuff like Jack Neo does?

Hai~ so what about my long time ambition to become a psychologist? I am just as interested in this. oh no....how....

I guess I should only think about it only when I actually get accepted into both. But suggestions, I accept now. What to do?! Can anyone imagine seeing me on TV or my name on the papers? Cos as much as I would like to bluff myself, I don't really think so.

You Are Teal Green

You are a one of a kind, original person. There's no one even close to being like you.
Expressive and creative, you have a knack for making the impossible possible.
While you are a bit offbeat, you don't scare people away with your quirks.
Your warm personality nicely counteracts and strange habits you may have.

I was just reading Denise's entry and some similar others which my brother showed me and now at the end of it all, I am feeling incredibly stupid. I have been hopelessly ignorant of the world round me, spending my time on useless things like programme timings of uncontructive TV shows, who sings better than who and if I'm ever gonna pass my driving test. Was I always that self-involved? I recently started watching the news because my interview with NTU's coming up and I know I need to know some stuff. But I never thought deeply about any of the issues. What do I think of what's happening? don't know. don't care. And the way I write my entries! I sound like a child, am I really 18? For the first time in my life, I have this urge to be smarter. I know this sounds weird. but...oh I don't know. I'm just still stunned by how much I don't know.

Anyway there's this motivational talk I heard of from TV by I don't know who. I was just waiting for the ads to finish rolling when its topic caught my eye. I laughed when I saw the acronyms S.U.M.O flash arcoss the screen. (personally I hate acronyms, they're very much overused)Anyway I later found out that it stands for 'Shut Up, Move On', which has been popping up in my head for the past week. how accurate. we should all stop whining so much and maybe we'll get more done. More action, less talking, people. your life will be more well spent.

Anyone watched Miss Singapore Universe last week? There was this incredibly funny part where one of the girls was asked 'what song do you think best represents you and Singapore girls?' And her reply was Don't Cha by PCD. !!! Her time ended right from that moment she said it for sure. It's as good as last year's answer of dismantling my handphone to send out signals if I am trapped on a deserted island. How come they don't seem as smart to me? And does anyone notice the fact that most of them are ugly?! Who cares if you can answer the questions well enough if you can't even get past the swimsuit show? hello, in Miss Universe, it's beauty first, brains later. The top 10 are chosen from what? Beauty, of course. Choose the prettiest one in Singapore, then teach her until she's smart enough. It's just a couple questions, you don't need a rocket scientist.

My interview with smu today was okay, I don't think I made a big enough impression though. Hai whatever, it comes when it comes. Being in smu today made me realise I can probably get used to the lifestyle there. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I mean, it is really nearer as compared to nus or ntu. I really don't know what I was thinking when I decided to reach smu at 2pm for my interview at 2pm today. People, dun be as stupid as me, pls reach at least 30mins before your interview timings.

I wanna watch this movie! The trailer looks very promising. Sorry I could only find the one without subtitles on YouTube. Besides, the director was the same one who did Infernal Affairs, so ya, promising. haha.

"Daisy" is a story about the inevitable showdown between a detective and a killer who fall in love with the same woman. In the story, Jeon plays a street artist who dreams of opening her own exhibition someday, while Jeong portrays a killer who loves her but cannot confess his love to her because of his profession.

Cassie made me re-discover my passion for online quizzes. haha. But Quzilla keeps stalling on me so here's one (i took directly from her)first. There's more to come!

What type of Fae are you?

Sunday, April 02, 2006

I hate it when my parents treat me like a bloody kid (which is all the time). My mum said it herself: 'your sister can't seem to make her own decisions at all'. EXCUSE ME?! I swear no other parent was so involved in any of your university application. Did you know that my application essay anwers had to be reviewed and revised like five times even before she'd (under my dad's encouragement) let me send it in? It's beyond irritating! I can so make my own decisions, only that they don't let me do so. They wouldn't trust me to make my own decisions anyway. Gosh, I hate being treated like an idiot. On well, this is just another problem about being the youngest in the family!...how frustrating.

I can't believe I watched through 'Russia's last Tsar' on National Geographic a couple nights ago. It was about the royal family's private lives throughout the revolution, not exactly the revolution itself. (I can sense people getting bored with me already). I actually thought it was very exciting...haha, I'm such a nerd.

I need to make more money.
